Pretty good Asian place in a cute plaza in downtown Gainesville. I’ve also passed by liquid ginger when downtown, and it’s pretty hard to miss the creepy moon statue outside. I figured I’d finally try it and I had a pretty good experience.
The ambiance of the interior was a little gloomy, but it was still cute nonetheless. The wait staff wasn’t very quick despite not being busy, but I do not want to hold it against them. I ordered the pad thai and my girlfriend ordered what I believe were the udon noodles with steak.
The pad thai was pretty good and on par with other thai or asian places i’ve had across gainesville. I thought it could have used a little more sauce, but the chicken and the vegetables were all cooked well and still tasty.
The udon noodles with steak were decent and the steak and vegetables were cooked pretty well. The main dismay was that the dish was absurdly oily, such that there was a pool of oil on the bottom and the leftovers left a film of oil across the takeout container. The dish was still enjoyable, just a little less oil would’ve been appreciated.
Nonetheless, I’d still recommend trying it out for anything pan-asian or thai fusion as I believe they have a lot to offer. They also have an expansive sushi menu that I didn’t get to try, so i’d love to try that too!
I really liked this place I went during lunch and ordered the chicken bulgogi. The lunch special was only $10, and it came with miso soup and salad. The portion size was a bit small but that makes sense because it was lunch and cheap. Our waiter was really nice and the food came out very quickly. I liked the vibes in there, there wasn’t many people at the time I went and it was pretty quiet.
The salmon and rice is really good and the crab Rangoon
I visit here often as I work in this area. The sushi is always spot on, affordable, and delicious. I've tried numerous rolls, and they are all delicious. My favorite roll is the Golden Apple Roll (spicy, crunchy salmon, Fuji apple, mango w/ Mango sauce). I typically visit for lunch and order ahead, but I have been there for dinner, and the experience is the same. I'm also a big fan of the Basil Chicken & Teriyaki Chicken. Cannot brag about them enough!
The food was so nice and fresh. And the service from the waitress was the best. The employees are so nice. The best sushi 🍣 ever. 😊 I highly recommend this place.
I was looking for a place to eat in Gainesville and found this great restaurant! Its setup was really nice, and the food was good and well-priced. My daughter had a sushi roll and loved it! I had a very good-quality pad thai and really enjoyed the vegetable tempura. I will definitely visit again!
Food is good, but they give you a small amount of rice and then charge you 2 or 3 dollars extra for more. Rice is so cheap?? for 15 or 16 dollars I should be able to have enough rice to finish my food. Just sours the experience. once I forgot how little they gave and got take out and had to make more rice for my curry. Counter intuitive.
I had pad thai noodles w/chicken and soup which totaled to $10.20. The food was good but there service was meh. The greeter was very nice but the server wasn’t very knowledgeable on the menu items. My friend has various food allergies so we were asking about ingredients and the server said “I don’t know I’m not the cook”. Ok… I would recommend Liquid Ginger puts some kind of clarification next to menu items for people with food allergies.
I give a 4 overall. The service was good.. The manager was also our server and he made great suggestions from the menu. We loved it and left absolutely satisfied.
